Resizing images for listings: sizes and a naming pattern that holds up
Marketplaces crop ruthlessly. Export the main image at 2000 by 2000 pixels, keep the product inside the middle 80 percent of the frame, and the crop will not cut anything that matters.
Name files by what a buyer searches, not by camera output. Use pattern: product-colour-view-number, for example chair-oak-front-01.jpg. IMG_4021 tells nobody anything.
Keep one untouched original per product in a separate folder. Every resize and conversion here works on a copy, so a bad export costs you thirty seconds, not the photo.
